Dr. Mark Malowney is a chiropractic doctor (although he almost wasn’t – more on that later) and the owner and founder of Rebound Sport and Spine. Growing up, Dr. Mark dreamed of a career as a professional athlete. He knows firsthand the devastating effects injuries can have on an individual’s personal and professional life. His unwavering commitment to personalized, evidence-based sports injury recovery excellence stems from his personal journey. Dr. Mark has years of experience in sports medicine that enable him to skillfully diagnose difficult, elusive injuries and guide patients along the path to recovery. His passion is high-quality, patient-centered care. He strongly believes that collaboration between chiropractic doctors, patients, and other health providers is critical for successful healing. It is this belief in the healing power of collaborative, evidence-based treatment that inspired Dr. Mark to launch Rebound Sport and Spine.

In addition to musculoskeletal injuries, Dr. Mark is certified in concussion management by Complete Concussion Management. Throughout his sports career, he experienced numerous concussions that severely affected him personally and professionally. It was through this experience that Dr. Mark realized the vast gaps that existed in concussion treatment and prevention knowledge. He now regularly gives educational talks and seminars to local sports teams and organizations to help promote best practices and dispel false concussion myths.

Dr. Malowney is directly involved with several local sports teams. He is proud to serve as head trainer for the Langley Rams Junior Football Club (Go Rams!). As part of his work with the Rams, he initiated a concussion baseline testing protocol to ensure safe and evidence-based assessment and return to play guidelines for Rams athletes. Dr. Mark also works with the Langley Bears football club and the Langley Trappers hockey team.

Dr. Mark enjoys passing on his knowledge by mentoring practicum students from Trinity Western University and Western States University.

Dr. Mark earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) with Clinic Honours from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2009.

Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Kinesiology with distinction, from the University of Victoria and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Jordana recently graduated with her Master’s of Physiotherapy from Leeds Beckett University. Growing up she competed as an elite level gymnast until an injury took her out of the sport. After spending the better part of 2 years in physiotherapy rehabbing the injury, she grew an interest for the profession due to the dedicated work of her physiotherapist. Now almost 10 years later she was able to graduate from physiotherapy school during a pandemic to continue to pursue her 14 year old dreams.

Jordana graduated from the University of Alberta in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. During that time she worked with her Universities varsity Women’s soccer team, and a minor midget AA local hockey team. Since graduating from her undergrad she also spent two seasons with the Langley Rams and worked as a Kinesiologist at two multidisciplinary clinics focusing primarily on ICBC clients.

Jordana is hoping to continue working in sports and helping athletes. She wants to be able to emphasize the importance of listening to and understanding their bodies and when it may be okay to push through an injury during season and when it may be better to take a break. She also wants to help with proper pre-season training to help prevent avoidable injuries. She would love to continue working to help ICBC clients heal after a car accident and the general population with any musculoskeletal injury they may have.
